15th ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2008

The 15th Annual Hereford Conference will be held 29 June to 1 July 2008 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

There will also be the opportunity for pre- and post tours to Sweden, Norway, Finland and the United Kingdom.

Just after the show there will be a World Hereford Show at Herning, Jutland, in connection with the Danish National Show, one of the largest shows in Europe.

Preliminary Programme

Pre Tour- Finland & Sweden

Finland: June 22nd, 23rd and 24th

		Note: Suggest long haul travelers arrive in Helsinki on June 21st and maybe enjoy a city tour or similar in the morning of 22nd June.
	June 22nd	Early evening farm visit to Thorsvik Herefords at Kirkkonummi. Herd visit at Thorsvik followed by dinner hosted by Antti and Tiina Herlin. Bus back to the hotel. Overnight at Crowne Plaza Helsinki.
	June 23rd	Herd visits at Millola in Saukkola, hosted by Mikko Leikola. Bus trip continues to Hattula, near Hämeenlinna. Herd visit at Hattula hosted by Erkki Lassila, followed by a visit at Hattulan tilateursatamo, cattle show. Optional program for accompanying persons organised by Hämeen Matkailu, tour ends at the hotel Aulanko. Evening spent at Yli-Lassila, farm of Erkki Lassila. Overnight at Hotel Aulanko in Hämeenlinna.
	June 24th	Herd visits at the farm of Henrik & Inkere Jensen. The trip continues to Koskis, lunch at Koski Manor hosted by von Limburg Stirums. Visit to Loskis Hereford and the environment under the theme CCC; Church, Cattle and Culture. We continue our trip to Turku and we will overnight on board the ferry to Sweden and Stockholm.
Sweden: June 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th & 29th
	June 25th	Wednesday Arrive in Stockholm in the morning. Conducted bus tour of the beautiful Stockholm city and tourist attractions. Also some time on your own for lunch and shopping. In the afternoon we will continue the trip South to Linköping and overnight in Linköping at Scandic Hotel.
	June 26th	Thursday - Linköping The Swedish Hereford Society day at the School of Vreta, just outside Linköping. An exhibition of the animals, Showmanship, auction etc. BBQ in the evening. For spouses we do offer a nice spouse trip on Göta Canal. Overnight stay in Linköping.
	June 27th	Friday - Linköping-Kalmar We will continue our trip through Sweden and we are now heading to Kalmar and Öland. We will overnight in Kalmar at Calmar Stadshotell but first we will travel to Öland for a day with the Danielsson family at Risinge Hereford. We will also visit The Great Alvar, one of the World Heritages. BBQ and social mingle during the evening.
	June 28th June 29th	Saturday - Kalmar-Ronneby We will start our day with a visit at Kalmar Castle and a history lesson about our Nordic common history. On our trip to Ronneby we will do a short stop at the Kingdom of Crystal in Småland. We wil continue our trip to Blekinge with a stop at the Oweson family at Origo Hereford. Overnight at Hotel Ronneby Brunn. Sunday - Ronneby-Copenhagen Heading towards Skåne and Knutstorp for a Farm visit at the Wachtmeister brothers. After the Herd visit we will continue our trip and we will travel to Denmark via the Öresund bridge. This will be the last day on the pre tour! Overnight at Choosen Congress Hotel in Copenhagen Please Note: The tours above are optional and are not included in the Registration fee. These tours are based at a minumum of 40 participants and the genaral booking conditions apply.
15th World Hereford Conference
Conference Venue	June 30th	Delegates Meeting. Free morning. 13.30 Hours Conference Opening Ceremony. Conference Sessions One & Two.
Conference Venue	July 1st	Conference Sessions Three, Four, Five & Six. Conference Dinner.
		Partner’s Program Free admittance to the Opening Ceremony and session one for all those who have a partner registered for the conference. As there are so many city tours and sightseeing tours available special tours will not be arranged for partners. Most tours are within easy walking distance of hotels. The canal tour and the historic walking tours are recommended.
Post Tour: Denmark & Norway
Denmark: July 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th
	July 2nd	Depart Copenhagen. Part 1 Copenhagen-Odense We will start this day with a City tour of Copenhagen. After that we will start our drive north on sealand for a herd visit. During the afternoon we will see the nice Danish landscape and we will end our day at Fyn where we will spend the night at First Hotel Odense.
	July 3rd	Odense-Herning In the morning we will visit the museum of Hans Christian Andersen in Odense. We will drive over the bridge “lilla bält” for a herd visit at Jylland near the village Viborg. Overnight in Herning at Scandic Hotel Regina.
	July 4th	Herning Today is it the Herning Agricullture Show “Dansk Landskue”. This is the biggest herd and farmers exhibition in Denmark. An evening banquet will be served. Overnight at Scandic Hotel Regina. End of post tour part 1.
	July 5th	Our trip starts in Herning for further transport North to Fredrikshamn. During our trip to Fredrikshamn we will visit two herd farms. Ferry trip to Gothenburg in Sweden where we will spend the night at Elite Park Avenue Goteborg.
Norway: July 6th, 7th & 8th
	July 6th July 7th	Gothenburg-Oslo We will drive through the west coast in Sweden up to the eastern countryside in Norway. Here will we do a herd visit in Östfold in Norway. Overnight in Oslo at Hotel Bristol. Oslo-Lillehammer We will start the morning with a city tour of Oslo. Drive north to Lillehammer and Mjösa, for a herd visit. Overnight in Lillehammer at Radisson SAS Lillehammer.
	July 8th	Lillehammer-Oslo Today we will go south to Oslo. We will spend the afternoon/evening at the Norwegian Hereford summer meeting. We will meet again in Canada 2012.
