His Leonard 38L dam is a calving ease trait leader in the Hereford industry at + 10.8 and her seven calves have an average birth weight index of 124.6 She is a problem free-easy keeping, 1450 lbs cow.

Red Cedar is dark red, thick, meaty deep bodied, good footed with a tremendous rear quarter. He will give you calving ease, milk, carcass and longevity backed by seven generations of Tlell breeding.

Koanui Rocket 0219

Mark Scown of South Australia has purchased semen rights for Australia and a semen package has also been purchased by South Africa.
Rocket is a trait leader for gestation length, birth weight and scrotal measurements. His milk and growth are also way above the breed average and his 'Indexes' suggest he has a lot to offer in all three categories.

International News

In international news, MLA has reported that from April 18-28, the Tokyo Hilton will host the New Zealand Beef Fair, showcasing beef cuisine in both the lunch and dinner buffets, as well as featuring a guest New Zealand chef
to lead cooking demonstrations and a lunch event. New Zealand, like Australia, has benefited from its clean, green image in the Japanese beef market. Japanese imports of New Zealand beef have almost doubled in the
past year, bringing import volumes to 33,536 tonnes in 2004.

Okawa Commodore

Okawa Commodore, bred by David Morrow of Okawa Farms in Canterbury New Zealand, impressed South Australian Hereford breeders Mark Scown and Graham Day when they visited New Zealand recently. Mark purchased a semen package while Graham secured the Australian semen rights for the young two year old
sire.

Kairuru Aberdeen

Canadian breeders Ian and Marlene Harvie, of Harvie Ranching in Canada  purchased a semen package of a New Zealand yearling bull "Kairuru Aberdeen" from Reporoa Hereford breeders Kevin and Jane McDonald. His dam is a daughter of Kairuru Ricardo, the top priced bull sold at the 1998 NZ Beef Expo.



Kairuru Xavier

Kairuru Xavier 02 0011 is by Leelands Transition T7 and out of Kairuru Plum S11.
The International Semen Marketing rights are jointly owned by the Kairuru and Big River Studs in New Zealand. The Irish and European Union Rights were purchased by the Irish Hereford Breed Society this August 2004.



Maungahina Fastrack

The Elfdale Stud in Australia has recently purchased the semen rights of a rising two year bull Maungahina Fastrack for $30,000. Fastrack is a son of Premier 25c Standout who was the top priced bull at the 2001 New Zealand Hereford Beef Expo. Standout's sire is NJW Vaquero.
